This project speaks about the body as a sanctuary and as an obstacle to oblivion.

In Western societies a mixture of historical and economic factors have led to the emergence of standards that are as rigid as they are contradictory for what concerns male and female values, character and body attributes.

These contingencies created a regulated situation which then expanded and crystallized in a deafening loss of meaning, which insinuates itself into even the simplest dimensions of existence shaping the existence of the individual through all the phases of his biography in different shades.

Bodies become docile, but inaccessible, and it is in this inaccessibility that one can see the resistance of the living body which refuses to give itself, which dissociates itself from obedience and protects the meaning of being.

Restlessness, anger, sadness, lack of communication, are the atmospheres that spread into the oblivion of desire, hover around the bodies, climb the walls and fill the empty spaces, cloaking the solids.

ABOUT CAMILLA SACCARDI

Camilla Saccardi nasce a Verona nel 1994, vive a Padova dal 2014. Si laurea in psicologia Clinico-dinamica nel 2021, disciplina che si intreccia profondamente alle sue esplorazioni fotografiche. I suoi interessi artistici e scientifici riguardano principalmente la percezione, lo sviluppo e le conseguenze dei ruoli di genere e delle immagini corporee nella società da un punto di vista psico-sociale. Più in generale è estremamente curiosa di ciò che vi è oltre la prima impressione che le persone e gli eventi possono dare, usando la fotografia come un mezzo per aprire relazioni e avvicinarsi.

In aprile 2021 inizia il lavoro Questo è il mio corpo (offerto in sacrificio per voi), suo primo progetto fotografico, con cui entra nel programma Canon Student Development Programme 2021.
